She began her Culinary journey over 30 years ago in the Chicago kitchen of her Paternal Grandmother, Grandma Kline. “Grandma would cook the nutritionally wrong stuff, like biscuits, fried chicken, All Southern Cuisine, All Delicious.

Dai Lai became a “Little Sous Chef” for her grandmother, and her Passion for cooking was ignited. She attended Kendall College of Culinary Arts and has recently taken classes in Barcelona, Spain; Montego Bay, Jamaica and Cartagena, Columbia.


Her “Passion” has blossomed into a Home-Based Catering Business that has found Dai Lai working behind the scenes on the mini series “Black and Privileged “ in addition to three other films for Writer/Producer Mark Harris and she is often hired as a Private Chef by Stapled Events. Additionally Chef Dai Lai will prepare intimate meals for couples and families. Presently employed the City of Chicago as a Police Communications Operator since 1996. Chef Dai Lai also cater on site Retirement and Birthday Events for her Colleagues.


Incorporating much of what she learned from the Mediterranean, Caribbean and South America. Dai Lai has a diverse repertoire that includes Caribbean, African dishes as well as Contemporary and Soul Food.

She looks forward to sharing her “Passion “ and Love with Every client she encounters.
